It's been a week since we rang in 2016 with a bang or, if you were in Berlin, several loud bangs and some all-too-near flashes of light. Hopefully you've recovered from your hangover and remembered all those resolutions you drunkenly promised to yourself as the clocks hit midnight. Well, it's time to get into action!
At this time of year if your resolution is to run more or to eat more healthily then you'll find a ton of tips on how to keep fit and healthy—I can't help with those resolutions. But if, like me, one of them is to improve your German then you've come to the right place. If you haven't read it yet, check out my tips on how to improve your German along with I Heart Berlin's tips.
I also had the joy of trying out Lingoda last year thanks to the friendly folks working there. If you're not familiar with it, the idea is pretty simple—learn German from wherever you are, whenever you want. You buy a certain amount of lessons each month and then book yourself into a Skype private class or a group class, meaning you can work it around your schedule rather than having to run straight from work to class twice a week—which is not so fun, take it from me. If you're new to the city, real-life classrooms might be better as you get the added benefit of making friends. But if the idea of having a class from the comfort of your sofa appeals to you then you might like to know that Lingoda are offering a 15% discount to the first 15 people who use the following code: daysofdeutsch. Perhaps we'll virtually meet in a Lingoda group class one day.
Whatever your resolution, good luck—may it last longer than January!
It may have been sunny for the last few days but, Berlin, I refuse to be tricked by you. Winter is not over yet. Here's a few tips for surviving the cold.
